Create

The earth is turning so quickly these days, as a result it has been difficult to find a moment to grab a handful of supplies and create a piece of art.
However this morning I moved into a new cycle and I found just a moment to create a fabulous booklet to record the beautiful thoughts I have throughout the day. I have had so many wonderful experiences recently I want to treasure them and and show my gratitude and give thanks for all of these wonderful bounties that have been bestowed upon me!
This is the Blessings Journal:
A small 4 x 6 booklet was covered with some found materials. Scrap for the front and back cover, some flower pieces left over from a previous project and an Artchix button used as the center of the flower.
In fact this whole project was inspired by Helga at Artchix and I want to say thank you. She has created a digi sheet with a list of the most wonderful information, Flowers and what they mean.  So while my book is more of my thoughts and blessings, you can be sure it will have several entries which include flowers. Please visit Helga here at My ARTistic Life.

House & Home

The challenge over at Moo Mania this week is:
Home
I thought I would just create a card and post it.
However the thought came to me to create a little box to house a collection of Moo's.

So... what do you think?

Tape in Pink

Instead of packing my overnight bag for the trip I am going on in the morning, I went to a Duck Tape Evening. I wasn't very helpful as I really never played much with the duck tape medium.
well needless to say I was hooked.
I created an animal print rosette for the top of a pen and I was off.
The girls went on to create a wallet, which is pretty nifty, but I was on bigger and more exciting projects.
I even learned a trick or two that I can share with you.

If you have never created in duck tape, it is really easy and fun. Projects are put together quickly and I think they would be indestructible

So now that have created the standard pencil topper, I am on to bigger and better things. .
My favorite tip is the cutting board. I learned to make a very forgiving cutting mat. Simple. Use clear duct tape to adhere a one inch grid paper to the back of a clear flexible kitchen cutting board. This works so well. This is so helpful with creating projects with straight lines.
Once you make one item, you will have the need to plan for another. Hello Kitty is always a good choice.
Love the look of this bag. It's so fun. I would love to take this into the store with this on, it has so much personality!
How about some matching shoes. This is one project I will be making soon!

Have you created in Duck tape before? I would love to hear how you became acquainted with this medium and what you craft from it? You might create a pair of shoes or dress up an old pair! You may make clothes or hats! Please share! But before you get started......

Please enjoy more pink Saturday at Beverly's Blog, there are so many hidden gems among the friends there.
Thank you for visit and have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

It was everywhere in our home. On the floors, on the walls and also on  the furniture!
To celebrate Mom's favorite color everywhere,  Creations by AR is having this Customer Blog Hop.
For this very special event I have created the One Drawer Card Organizer.
This is such a fabulous template!

It's the first time I have made it and so thrilled with the results... This is so easy to use and so very versatile. I know I shall be making this again. This first time I have kept it simple, in keeping with the look my mom prefers, by adding a few ribbons on it for embellishment.  You can, however add, a drawer pull or it can be made with many different patterns of paper!

Masterboard Inchies

I recently joined a swap hosted by a member in the Paper Traders group. The challenge was to create a masterboard  with inks and stamps and cut or punch the inchies from it. Then to make a little accordion booklet to mount them in.

The supplies
So I gathered some supplies. Some glossy paper, ink pads, brushed and some fun stamps. I went with the spring fairy theme, as I wanted to make the inchies bright and colorful. I selected two wonderful stamp collections from crafty secrets full of flowers and fairies.I selected another set that had several floral images that I thought would add nice floral flourished to the project.

The Masterboard
Inks in several brilliant spring colors were applied in random areas of the 8.5 x 11 shiny white gloss coated paper until the entire sheet was covered in color. Several stamps were selected at this time. The 1st layer of stamping was with background stamps such as the musical notes, both printed and cursive text in deeper shades of the background colors. Then with the deeper inks the fairies and the flourishes were added.

The booklets
While working on this project I came across a Graphics 45, 8x8 paper pad and thought the images would be a fabulous addition to the inchies, so I cut out a few of them and glued them onto the coordinating inchie for embellishment, with a little fairy dust added as a final touch.
The inchies were ready to mount into the prepared book.
I do hope the participants of this trade will enjoy these little creations, as they were great fun creating and assembling!

Color

It's so much fun to color. These two greeting cards were colored using chalk. It's so quick to use and the look is very smooth. For added depth of color , regular colored pencils can be used as an additional medium.
There are a few other embellishments used to decorate these cards, such as little jewels, stickles and washi tape!

Happy Spring

"Great indeed is this Day!
The soul of every Prophet of God, of every Divine Messenger, hath thirsted for this wondrous Day.
All the divers kindreds of the earth have, likewise, yearned to attain it."

Happy Spring!
The quotation above is from the Baha'i writings. This is a most wonderful time of the year, not only because it is spring, but because it is the time of the celebration of Ridvan. This is the time 150 years ago that Baha'u'llah spent in the Garden of Ridvan, it was in this spot that His Declaration had been made to His companions.
To celebrate and to keep in theme with the current Moo Mania Challenge, this sweet Moo was created!
Is there a better season then spring to use pink? To share more pink happiness please visit Beverly at "How Sweet the Sound"
Thank you for your visit.... have a great day full of joy and happiness!

Blog Hop

Welcome, thank you for coming by for a visit during Paper Traders 1st Blog Hop!
If you are starting here and haven't joined in, please visit the other Paper Trader Artist's, it's such a joy to see their creations!
If you have been following the Paper Trader's order you would have just come from Art and Soul.
I am Gigi, and I live in the"Valley of the Sun" in sunny Mesa, Arizona. I love arts and craft's. There is so much art here in the desert, it's a interesting place to be. I also love to trade and collaborate with art. I find that I cannot resist altered book round robins.
It's exciting when your book comes back to your home, you open your altered book and see the creativity and the joy that others put into your book and the many places the book has traveled. These books really make the best coffee table books! I believe art and art collaboration build friendships and deliver happiness  and pleasure.
I am sharing a few spreads from an altered fashion book that traveled around the country.
