Lady Liberty

This ATC was inspired by one of my favorite actresses, Mae West.
I grew up watching her vintage films and loving every performance.
Her lines are so very quotable.
This is one of my favorites!
To celebrate Independence day, I would love to give this ATC away.
To enter to win ~ leave a comment with the name of the movie that Mae West wears this costume. At the end of the week I will pick a winner from the entries.

Part of A Puzzle

Vintage is everywhere at Mystic Paper.
The scrapbook and paper arts store in
Downtown Mesa. This week those wonderful ladies, Kim and Jennifer, hosted a "puzzle piece swap".
I can never resist a swap, so armed with my
10 puzzle pieces and glorious papers and stamps, I set up my work station. This was the end result!
I call her the "Travel Diva".
The reds in this paper are so beautiful. So this diva had to be a redhead, as she seems to cause a fuss where every she goes!
This girl is really going places!

Magic Carpet RIde!

Ever wonder what it's like to travel on a magic carpet?
You can just imagine......And that being said the world is a wonderful place through the imagination. As soon as I saw the original image, I wanted to create something.....A few days later I read the quote by Norman Vincent Peale.
I found these wonderful images on the Artchix collage sheets (Mini's & Lovely Lavender) to alter my Princess playing card. I thought I would take this opportunity to play in Helga's weekly challenge.
What a magical piece. Now close your eyes you can almost hear the call to prayer from the tower!

There's a whole lot of art going on !

I love art.
As everyone knows my favorite kind of art is make up artistry.
I love the color , eye shadows, blush and lipstick! The more color the better! The ability to have a different look everyday is amazing!
To quote my very wonderful friend, Tanya.
" You're not done until you have a $300.00 face!"
Maybe that's why I love those Japanese, Geisha's so very much.
They really take make up artistry to a different level!
This weekend for the Live swap at the Frenzy Stamper we altered postcards.
Every one did such a great job. I was very excited with my loot!
The piece I create started out as a postcard from Japan that I picked up in Japantown in San Fransisco. They were so gorgeous I had to get them to share.... I added a few things and altered them until they were ready to be exchanged.

Tuesday Art Challenge

I have wanted to paint on text for some time now.....I also love these little playful fairies!

This Tuesday I decided to put the two together and this is the end result!

I took out several colors of acrylic paint and added the colors a layer at a time, afterwards I stamped the image in black. The finishing touch was the gossamer wings. I love adding glitter with the glue pen.

I think I love using the glue pen! It allows you to apply glitter in the most delicate areas with ease!

Well done Tuesday Challenge!

Cracker Jack

Happy Birthday Cracker Jack!
In celebration of this auspicious occasion, I am dressing with appropriate accessories!
Many years ago, while on a visit home, I happened to go into an art gallery with my mother.
We giggled over this necklace which is made out of authentic "Cracker Jack Toys".
In a very nostalgic mood, she purchased the necklace for me.
These tiny charms were hidden in a barrel during the war and later discovered in a Chicago Warehouse and made into jewelry.
How's that for a piece of Art!

Birthday Celebrations

As children it was so much fun to have
all of your favorite friends over to have
cake and ice cream and play a few party
games and then open the gifts that you
were given.

It was an exciting time and
an event that was highly
anticipated every year......

This weekend was my niece's birthday party.
She is having a wonderful
"All Night Themed Party" Event.
So exclusive my sister asked me to
create special I.D Passes for the girls
and for the adults (Press Passes).
