Enchanting

Life is full of some wonderful moments, however time seems to pass so quickly. Before this day becomes just a memory, I had to create something to share. Therefore, I have create an "Enchanted Clock" for this weeks Artchix lottery.
I had so much fun selecting the Artchix images to use for this enchanted piece of art!
The bird at the top is a likeness to those wild love birds that I feed in the backyard everyday! Their melody is so loud it makes one feel they are in an enchanted garden, not the middle of the desert!

Trick or Treat

Halloween is so much fun. In pass years, Gabrielle and I would pack up our costumes, jump in the car and drive straight to Dallas. The neighborhood that my sister lived in was spectacular for Halloween. They would host a community event which included a pumpkin carving contest, a barbecue in the park for the children to have dinner, and then they would throw the kids up on the truck to give them a hay ride. The little ones would then grab their bags and trick or treat through out the neighborhood. There would be creepy music playing in the streets. It was like a huge block party. In fact this is me my costume one year!
This year I am having a little house guest! So I am planning a very
festive environment . So I have found this great table cloth and matching curtains at SAS for a song, so I had to buy them....... They are going to look so festive with the cauldron and the dry ice brewing.... What fun!

Friday Night on The Town

It was Motorcycle Night down on Main for this 2nd Friday. The festivities were extended to anything on two wheels, so we decided to jump on the scooter and have dinner on main. We went to sweet cakes and had sandwiches and cookies with the bikers! It was an exciting night. There was live music and lots of activities. The street was packed both with bikers and onlookers. It was one of the busiest nights that the city has had!
Of course, I had to go into Mystic Paper...While there I had to sign up for the next swap............"Altered Spoons"

Quotations

I cannot resist an ATC swap, especially if it's a Mae West quotation swap. Mae West was known for her great lines. So before her time. She was always wearing great clothes, too. I found this image in an auction catalog and thought it would be fun to use. Her name symbolizes her larger than life status. I love using black and white images, it's fun to do a little bit of creative make up. I gave Mae a line of Deep Navy eyeliner to make the whites of her eyes brighter, and a soft delicate pink blush. I actually put her in a blue dress and painted her nails red. Notice her her bling. You don't think it's over the top, do you?

Paper Roses

I have such a strong passion for creating art. It can be very challenging and also very rewarding. For example ...This rose~
This is my first paper rose! This particular rose has been on my mind for a very long time. One day last winter I sat at the table and thought that it was time for it to bloom.
The accomplishment that I felt afterward was tremendous.
The reward - it's beauty.
Creating paper blooms takes practice and patience and perseverance...
and ultimate glue!

Create Art

Holiday weekends are great. There is enough time for
art. I had the luxury of spending the whole day painting,
cutting and gluing.

I spent the day working on a collaborative altered
book project. This is a page from my book.
The background is very faint, however it is a faint map of London.

I thought it would be fun to design a page in the book that would be fun and represent me.

It was very challenging looking at a blank page and do some thing for myself. It is far easier joining a challenge that is picked out for you.

I also completed two pages from another book in this collaboration. The theme of the other book is Pin Ups. I picked a few pin ups to use and created a cute night and day spread.

It was so much fun.
